Dancing on Ice Olympic special 

So Matty is back in the UK for the Dancing on Ice final. But also we have exciting news for you. Matty will be taking part in the Dancing on Ice Olympic special on the 1st April. He has tweetd to say hes been partnered with the lovely Olga Korbut. 

Olga Korbut is a gymnast who won four gold medals and two silver medals at the 1972 and 1976 Olympics. She brought two new gymnastic movements that have never done before by any human. These movements are known as “Korbut Flip” and “Korbut Salto”. The Korbut Salto is a backward serial summersault on the balance beam, and the Korbut Flip is a backflip on the uneven bars. Both of those skills are considered exceptionally difficult.  

 Back in the UK

Matt is currently on his way back to the UK for a short time and will be at the Dancing on Ice studios for week 9. 

Tough Mudder

Matt will be taking part in Tough Mudder in July at the california eventTough Mudder events are hardcore 10-12 mile obstacle courses designed by British Special Forces to test your all around strength, stamina, mental grit, and camaraderie. No Tour For Matt and Charlene!!

Matt and Charlene have both tweeted stating they will not be on the Dancing on Ice tour this year. 

 

Matt heads home 

Matt had boarded a plane to go home for a few weeks. He arrived safely in Arizona early this morning (UK time). He will be returning to the UK in approximately 2 weeks time and will have exciting news.

 

Sent home!

Week 5, Matt and Charlene were sent home from dancing on ice after facing the skate off with Sam and Alex. 
They skated to Lady GaGa Poker Face and scored 13.5 from the judges. ­Charlene said that her Dancing on Ice exit came just in time to prevent her needing shoulder surgery.

Charlene:

“I wanted to stop every day,” she admitted. But she also claimed to have loved her time on the hit ITV1 show. She said: “It’s been such a blessing for me, mentally, physically. I’ve met the most wonderful people.”
